Monday night at about 22:00, police received a report of a theft that occurred on Valley Road near Kings supermarket in Upper Montclair.

The victim, a Montclair resident fifteen years, said he was walking in that area on that date at about 9:30 p.m. when he was approached by three young black men, each about sixteen or seventeen years and every wear shorts, shirts, dark, and baseball caps. One of the suspects told the victim, "run your pockets" and proceeded to search the pockets of the victim for money. When the suspects did not find any money, they picked up his black and red-colored skateboard, valued at $110, and walked away. Prior to leaving, one of the suspects pushed the victim and told him not to do anything.

Drug Arrest  

On 6/21/11 at approximately 4:35 PM, detectives were in the area of Grove Street and Watchung Avenue when they observed a Nissan Altima traveling northbound on Grove Street and driving erratically. Police stopped the car around Grove Street and Mount Vernon Road in Upper Montclair and observed the passenger grabbing something from the vehicle’s center console. The passenger, later identified as David Iaquinta, jumped out of the car and attempted to flee on foot. While exiting the car, Iaquinta dropped some small items from his hand. 

Iaquinta was apprehended and police retrieved the items, later identified as fifty-seven glassine envelopes containing heroin. Iaquinta, 21, of Belleville, was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, and obstruction. Bail was set at $30,000.  

Arrest  

On Friday night at approximately 12:15 PM, police stopped a Toyota on Greenwood Avenue after a registration check revealed that the owner had an active warrant. The driver, identified as Joseph Charles, 34, of Newark, was placed under arrest after police confirmed that he had a warrant issued by the Essex County Sheriff’s Office.Bail was not set at the time of the report.

Theft of motor vehicle  

On Friday morning, police confiscated a BMW 328 after finding the middle of Christopher Street with the doors locked in neutral. Police were unable to find the owner of the vehicle. At about 1:15 p.m., at that time, police received a report of a male Montclair who wish to report that the car recovered on Christopher Street had been stolen the previous night.
