Jerry Higbie Goes Pink for Friday Evening Accord Speedway Event
GOSHEN, N.Y. -- Modified superstar Jerry Higbie and the Higbie Racing Team suffered from a rain out last Friday evening at the Accord Speedway to enjoy a night off from the rigors of racing but got back into action the following evening as he drove his signature numbered Big Block powered Modified to a second place finish at the Orange County Fair Speedway and narrowly missing the win that was captured by Michael Storms. With the Accord Speedway points remaining unchanged due to the cancellation and the great finish at OCFS have Jerry remaining solidly in the hunt for the two speedway point chases at both Accord and OCFS and the points battles are shaping up to be nail-biters with the many top quality drivers competing at the New York facilities. Jerry is seeking his third consecutive title at the tough Accord Speedway facility and fourth overall and will be gunning for his third consecutive OCFS Big Block title in 2011.The updated points at Accord continue to show Brett Hearn as the point leader with 412 points. Jerry Higbie is the runner-up with 384 tallies. Danny Creeden continued his great work and is third in the standings with 371 points. Mike Ricci is fourth with 331 markers and Danny Tyler completes the top five with 322 points. Jeff Heotzler heads up the second five with 319 points and Richie Eurich is close with 299 tallies. Andy Bachetti with 283 tallies, Richard Smith with 262, and Michael Storms with 259 complete the current top ten in points.
Michael Storms captured the win at the OCFS facility on Saturday evening and had Jerry Higbie nipping at his heels for much of the event. The win for Storms was his second of the season. Jerry Higbie, Billy Van Inwegen, Bob McGannon and Tommy Meier completed the top five. Craig Mitchell, Jesse Kline, Tim Hindley, Donnie Wilson and Jack Brown completed the top ten. The updated points picture for the 2011 OCFS driving title now show Tommy Meier out front with 326 tallies. Jerry Higbie is in the runner-up position just one point behind with 325 markers and Richie Eurich has silently climbed into third with 274 points with Steve Dodd and Craig Mitchell completing the top five locked into a tie with 271 points each. Jack Brown with 269 points, Michael Storms with 266, Chris Whitehead with 259, Bob McGannon with 257 and Chris Shultz with 256 markers complete the top point earners at this point in the season.

Hey everybody whats up? Lately I have been thinking about adding a little more performance and maybe some more fuel efficient parts. So what I am looking into so far are: Headers+new exhaust, and cold air K&N intake. I am wondering what else I could do to give my car a tad more oompf you know and if these would be sufficient? It is the 4 cyl model. I am not looking to raise my HP by some crazy numbers like 30+, what I want is a little more torque and acceleration power. Thanks for the help, Tim. You'd lose acceleration and low end torque by changing your intake/exhaust. They're already designed for low end power because it's not built to be a racecar and it makes it more fuel efficient. Also your rad fan is already electric because it's a transverse mounted motor. You may get a slight gain with a less restrictive air filter like a K&N drop-in but I doubt you'd notice it and it'd just let more dirt into your engine. Do the exhaust, cause that may actually help a small bit... But some sort of ecu, im not a honda guy, maybe a honda tuner forum is where you need to go. But once you get one, or a flashing utility, whatever it may be to allow tuning of the engine, youll take it to a local performance shop with a dyno. They will tune it on the dyno, and give you a before and after result showing HP and torque. Alright, thanks for all the info guys. Well from what I have gathered here it is probably not a good idea to go ahead with this. Dropping 1k into my car to maybe see a small difference and possibly get worse gas mileage is not really what I wanted.
